360 shuv

Hey, i was out yesterday, and i tryed a few 360 shuvits and i seem to not be able to spin it the full 360, i either do a 270 or just a 180, i can seem to get it full around, any tips on footing positon, speed, how to spin it, dont just say kick it harder.. please cuz i cna figure that one out on my own Very Happy

I put my front foot almost in the middle of that board, just a little bit towards the nose. Have you tried kicking harder with your FRONT foot?

front foot! no i havnt so front foot mid board point toward the nose, thanks much! and by the way i ride with fins does that make a huge differnce?

yea it can. I ride without fins. And some people say if i rode with fins I wouldnt be able to do tricks. But I pop my tricks high. (at least i think i do)

ride without fins. Its more fun anyways and thats what its all about. not who can do what.

Where are you trying the trick? Inside out, cutting away from the wake, re-entry, out in the flats???

Dave Barousse, i do it cuttin out toeside, vance, ya ive seen u pop your stuff its huge, is there any advatages wiht the fin compared to without? should the boat be pulling any faster then a normal shuv?

cut out hs into the flats then try it.

If you are having a problem getting the spin down, make sure you pop it and spin it fore your board starts to sink back down in the water. In other words, as you are cutting out, throw the trick, don't wait and get flat.

when i do it i put my foot in the middle of the board but also hang my back foot over the edge that u r swinging it from so u can get a little more kick into it. but like Dave Barousse, said cut out in the flats and do it.

Alright ya i do it as i cut out ill try puttin my foot on the edge a little, thats what i do with 360 flips on a skateboard, good idea. thanks very much guys ima go out 2marow after school ill give ya the results! hopefully ill stick a few

yea definitely do it like a 360 flip on a skateboard, with that slingshot effect/ feel. make it one popping sweeping motion. cutting out heelside i agree is easiest. and without fins the board spins easier because you dont have to use energy releasing the hold, it also allows you to land a little sketchy or land it a little underspun (but if you arent used to it, it could cause you to land a little sketchy) . personally i like the feel of the pop and hold with fins.

Heres what I do, I set up my front foot so its right in the middle of the board ALMOST about to hang off the board, then your back foot put it hanging off the back a bit and on the corner of the board, now EASILY with your back foot scoop the board in the shuv it motion and it spins with ease. My friends say that they like watching me doing shuvs cause it looks so easy and effortless, so try that. I hope it helps. I actually learn shuv it 5's they are really fun.

ok its soo much easier to do shuv tricks w/o fins and i do my 3shuvz next to the wake on my ski or in the trough on a boat but i learned 3 shuvz on a trampoline first. also i had luck with putting my toe on the edge like i was doing a 360flip on a skatebord. it only works with a cocave tho
