I have been skating for like a moth now and used just regular skateboarding shoes but i a sick of the slow drying no draining stuff so i was wandering if you could help tell me what the pros' and cons' are about the dvs and the byerlys' or tell me how to make some good skating shoes. thanx |

He gave his opinion on byerly's, I guess I'll do the DVS.
DVS mesh Dresdens: Drain well except for the tongue, which holds a lot of water.
Buywake/ambush mesh dresdens (still DVS): My personal favorite, they fixed the material in the tongue so that it doesn't hold water, they drain well, and dry quickly enough so that I can wakeskate and wear them to school the next day.
If you wanna make some, drill holes in the bottom of your skate shoes, slit the tongue material open, and take out the cotton, that'll get you slightly better drainage and it won't hold as much water. |

I took a page from an Erich Schmaltz picture. converse all star hi-tops. Has anyone else tried them? They are not the most comfortable without socks when you are out of water but the thin material does not hold much water at all. There are two holes already in the side of the shoes, but I drilled 4 more at the bottom just for the heck of it. It seems to drain pretty good without extra holes though(except for the toe) because they fit your foot pretty well(very little room for water). The hi-tops also protect your ankle too . Cheap too ($39). I got a second pair for half price locally. They do not dry the next day unless you put them in front of the fridgerator though.
Does anyone know if the DVS dresden protects your ankle a little because of the side thickness? That was the only thing keeping me from getting the DVS shoes. I didn't know how well it would protect your ankle. |
