i was wondering if anyone thought that brought wakeskating in the wrong direction i mean im not hatin on Zak cuz hes the man and so much better then me but i think thats jus having it more lik wakeboarding and not skateboarding

if you dont know what im talkin about Zak (Stone) rides at o dub a lot and i think won the cable tour an he does a indy superman, there are some pics of him doin it in the wakeboard mag in ads for OWC

well, vert skaters do those grabs all the time and throw the board back under their feet, so why cant a cable rider do it? i mean wakeskating isnt skateboarding, it's wakeskating. so lets make wakeskating more like wakeskating and not worrie about turning it into something else.

I say as long as people are doing their own thing and pushing themselves, why complain? Wakeskating is what you want it to be.

Right. Call me a hippy, but when you wakeskate, I mean it is a brand new sport. You have a new horizon of tricks to try, It is such a free feeling sport. I personally think that he is sick for pulling a trick like that. It wouldn't be pulling wakeskating in the wrong direction at all. Though I do sense that in the future their might be a more destinct separation between cable skaters and tow skaters, just because the styles vary. Those are just my thoughts on the situation.

thats true i was just seeing what u guys thought i understand now and im with rukusrider lets jus have wakeskating be wakeskating and not link it to anythin

i guess the diff with cable skaters and pull skaters is the same as cable wakeboarders and tow wakeboarders.........

I think that an indy superman was Zak's version of a christ air, which is a great skateboarding trick, which is definitely a better direction to take wakeskating and very different from wakeboarding...in wakeboarding, a raley off of a kicker is so easy, I know 12 year olds at Rixen who can throw that trick because the board will never leave your feet. The trick is definately legit, but I think they should start calling it a christ air, I hate the term superman, b/c thats what every noob wakeboarder calls a raley, " oh I wanna see someone do one of those superman things" aarrrggghhh gay gay gay gay gay Smash

I agree, but the problem is that Zak can never get it laid out all the way. Plus, we're not skateboarding, so I'm assuming this was more original. Or maybe a little kid named it. Birthday

Support your scene, who really cares what anyone else thinks?? Wakeskating is what you make it plain and simple... the majority of people that come here are damn good riders, we make wakeskating what it is and no one else. If you dont like a trick that someone is doing step up and do someting your way or do a bigger or better trick. I think alot of people spend too much time worried about everyone else relating wakeskating to wakeboarding... in my opinion dont sit here and ask " is this like wakeboarding?" dont worry about it spend your energy on the water coming up with something new and inovative... We have popped wakeskating's cherry now its up to all of us to make it what we want... and i think we all agree that we want it to be something of its own.
