Protecting my Board

I remember someone posting some tips on how to protect your board, but that was on the old forum..
can anyone give some advice?

on my four track i just took this stuff that said yacht sealant or sumthing and i just put a bunch of coats on the bottom of my board and then it turned the green(4-trac) into an ugly brown but i didnt care kuz it stopped it from chipping

i have a flat cassette

On the first day riding it, I got home and there was a small chunk in the rail. I went online read about the board and discovered they dont do anything to the wood. So i coated the rails with polyurethane and it worked great!!! Very Happy
