I put up some pictures of what I have gotten so far. I still need to put the coats of urethane on it and grip the top. Where is the best place to get grip tape that is large enough? The last board I made I used skateboard grip but it wasn't long enough. |

hey guys im almost to the point of the final sealing of my board.. and im wondering what you guys have used to seal your board.. i know the original poster said vynlester epoxy spray.. but i cant find that.. i can find epoxy fillers and fiberglass resins.. just wondering about anything else.. do you think a spar urethane spray would work?? i want the lightest material i can find and ive worked quite a bit with fiberglass resin and it always ends up heavy.. thanks in advance.. |

mine is 3 sheets of 1/8 inch oak.. one thing i would do differently.. use epoxy instead of fiberglass resin to glue the plys together.. should be much stronger.. hint: when u add the stairs running down the sides for the concave it will make the board considerably stronger.. and when sanding.. take your time.. prepare to take 6 hrs sanding.. good luck its a ton of fun and you learn alot.. |
