don't have your back foot on the tail I guess. Whenever I do them the board never leaves the ground.

hippie jumps.

I've never really tried them, but it might help to start with really trying to pop your body varials, and then use that pop to try and hippie jump whatever it is you're eyeing up. The last time I was up north I was trying a shuv revert so my back foot was on the tail in its normal shuv position, but I had the handle in my back hand. Instead of doing a shuv revert, I popped the crap out of a body varial...it was funny because I never really do those anymore.

My point? That experience was what made me think of how working on that sort of pop (real pop, not like 3 inch high pop) would help with what you're working on, especially since with a body varial, you leave the board for a bit.

it's an opition. I included that information (my technique) because that was what effed up my shuv revert. My body rotated way too early and I didn't get enough rotation on the board to do the shuv. Instead, the board popped nicely and I ended up doing a BV. Part of what was key was the technique. When I used to do body varials, I had my back foot farther in from the tail, and what helped keep the board underneath you and to pop it, was to jump off of your front foot. I didn't do any of that, and I got a lot more pop out of it because of that.

If nothing else, that experience is supposed to help get your mind jogging so you can think of hot to get that pop while having your feet leave the board. (if you feel like skipping the body varial step.) Again, at least with a body varial, your feet completely leave the board. so maybe try the technique I described above, but instead of body varial-ing, suck your knees straight up.

I hope that made some sort of sense. I'm tired and I keep editing what I write.

ok so i here's a video of my attempts..........

the biggest problem was the speed and the timing obviously, and then the board always wanted to pop up with me, instead of going under the rope
