yeah , thats the matte 2.0
wheel and crank change

they forgot to add my straps in the box and my lights
but they shipped them out , they come in today

also ups f'ed my fork , so i had to fix it
and they sent me a new one so that was cool

I will admit they are a bit scatter brained
but for entry level bikes they are fine

Im going to build a super bike over winter
deciding on frames now
I want a beast (and spandex Embarassed )

The lady and I rode for 4 hrs Sunday, did about 35 total. It was great.
Woke up this am and she rode to work with me Laughing Laughing

Ok. So here is the saga of my bike (can't decide on her name yet).

I bought her like this

After a few months of riding I got the hang of not needing the lock brackets and really was enjoying her.

Bought her some new animal pedals and some foot retention.

Then a week later she got ganked at the skatepark.
Evil or Very Mad

So I bought this to replace her. Now I named her "Dark Night" bc of all her new parts(not pictured yet)

Then finally was at the skatepark and found her!
She looked totally different but I knew it was her!

The kid changed the wheels, pedals, seat, bars and took off the brakes.
So I confronted him, got him to make the decision to give me back the frame and keep his crappy parts and I wouldn't call the cops. Cool So he did. So I had her back.

I was going to be spending my money on building a nice bike, but now that I got her back I decided to remake Dark Night and turn (the recovered)her into a work/beater/commuter.
So I ordered some parts for my Dark Night. Used some of its parts to make my old stolen frame ride-able again. New wheels for the old bike, along with some fat treaded tires for winter. New bars for both bikes. Before I got the parts in I stickered the shizzle out of the frame(to make her look raggy Laughing ) and yesterday all my parts came in!
So now I have her back and I can't believe how good she looks!
Sooo comfy to ride, and can still get up and go!

And my other bike Dark Night Twisted Evil wait till I go to where they filmed "dark night" to take some pics of her. She is too sexy for camera phone Laughing

Here is the recovered, rebuilt, and revived Bike!

Jake S, I run a brake, its flat so gears are pretty much pointless. Plus riding fixed builds your legs up like crazy. If/when I can afford a nice road bike I will get one. But I can hold a 18mph avg over 12 miles fixed with no coasting. Id say I could move along on a 5,000 dollar road bike. I also bought my first spandex this year, for weekends. No shower at work so I just wear my work clothes. Im putting egg beaters on my other bike for the spring.

I've been looking at some road bikes lately, but I think Im going to get into cyclocross , instead of road. Fits my MX background and seems to be a lot of fun.

POPTART, cyclocross looks nuts, thats rad. don't get me wrong, i don't ride a $3000 bike or anything, just a starter Tommaso Imola, good to get me started. it is a plus to have a shower at work too.

Lucky, I could get a membership at the gym next door, but I don't really work that hard getting to work. I am going to watch my first cyclocross this weekend. The bikes look like they are the best for what I want to do. Road, a few trails, racing cyclocross, long rides, whatever.
