I have these ocean kayaks, which are sort of like A-frames on the bottom. I am planning on flipping them over and trying to use them as rails. I was just wondering if anybody had experience with this type of rail and could suggest some good ways to weigh it down so it won't move when I hit it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

We sometime put a little weight in the dry storage places but if you don't want to do that just anchor it and it should be fine.

I just threw one in the water...and I couldn't go hard (sprained ankle), but its really easy and really sweet. Make sure you anchor both sides, and tight, otherwise its gonna flop around when you try to slide it. The shallower the better too...overall its a good quick fix if you wanna slide.

Kayak rails are sweet, easy, slideable, and ollieable, try resting them on top of a tube. Good luck!

my freinds brother had a kayak. wejus flipped it over and held it there til the person was on his way over then swam away. we didnt really have time to anchor it plus it was a really deep lake. and the wakes kept messin it up.

I did the same thing as skatethewake and i kept getting pissed at my brother for rocking the kayak with the wake. Then i moved it closer to shore and kept it stationary by putting it on top of some reeds. It was OK

I wanna jack my neighbors kayak...they bought it like 2 years ago and used it like once...it just sits on the ground by their boat house. Definitly just gonna take it out when they're not down and hit it on my skate.
