So I am hear your guys thoughts on my problem. So I am working on paying off debt and get caught up on bills to buy a house sometime in the next couple years. Well I love my skating and I have found a new love of taking pictures. I have an older Nikon D70 and want to upgrade. Now since I do 99% action sports I would love something with much better sequence abilities and am looking at the D300.

Now I could just put it on credit and hope that it will be paid off in the near future but with how I am spending money it doesn't look probable. So another option is to sell my last real toy as a married man, my bike. Sad

Here it is.

BTW...it is an 05 zx10r if anybody cares.

So I could sell it to pay off he loan and have enough to buy my D300 and some accessories.

Just wanted to see what everybodys thoughts were of this.

Ryan

Ps. Here are some shot that I have gotten with my D70 that I am pretty proud off

Sell the bike, it's obvious you have more important things going for you than that bike. Think about it, when you are 50 years old are you going to be riding a street bike? When you are 50 years old are you going to take pictures of things? If you sell it and pay off debt, then you can have money to spend without having to worry about if you'll be able to make this month's credit card payment.

Irresponsible answer: Put it on credit, sure you can pay it off in a years time you know you can do it!! Keep the bike.

Responsible answer: Do NOT rack up any more debt. If selling the bike will = you out of debt with a little extra in the bank (instead of buying the camera) and on the way to home ownership, that's the right decision. You need to boost your credit scores by axing your debt to get a good home loan and you'll need cash in the bank to put a down payment on your new home.

Fun, mildy responsible answer: Sell the bike, buy the camera and accessories and enjoy your hobby. You only live once and you work hard for your money. Just keep in mind this option will set you back on home purchase date most likely.

A childhood riding friend of mine was killed on June 14th while riding his bike he loved so much Sad Woman pulled out in front of him, wasn't even his fault.

dscsk8er55, the D300 is a great investment (assuming you buy the battery pak attachement for it) and it will take your photography to new levels. If you don't have kids yet, don't worry about the money so much....enjoy. When the kids come, your life is OVER....for the most part. Laughing

First year i had it i put on about 10000 miles Very Happy talk about a fun daily driver. It has about 16000 now.

But to answer your question...right now about 30 if i am lucky. I started carpooling to work so I don't EVER ride it.

I have been riding sport bikes since I was 18. It is kinda sad to be with out one Sad But I really don't have time to ride it now that I don't Daily it. I was worried about getting rid of it and not having a fun toy but I do have a 88 mazda 323 gtx that I am working on getting on the road. WOOO HOOO AWD turbo with center locking diff FTW!!!! Boosting that thing to 16 PSI on a gravel road in full time 4 wheel drive is going to be bad arse.

Definitely sell the bike.. with a family of 3 (and one on the way) you do need to focus on getting that house sooner rather than later. There's still college to start saving for too.. so the sooner the better.

Also I am sorry to hear about you guys that have lost close ones to motorcycles. They are a dangerous mofo but it is like no other being out on 2 wheels. I know that I am protected from getting in an accident, it is just a mater of time.

She doesn't want me to sell it. You see that car behind the bike. I sold it when we got married (or shortly after) and that was my other 'dream' vehicle. It is a 93 Mazda Rx7. She feels bad that I had to sell that car b/c of having to take care of them, so she doesn't want me to sell my last 'toy'

Badass. Your taste in cars is impeccable. I love those cars. I had to sell my FD to free up some cash flow for my baby boy on the way. So stoked. I will buy another RX7 as soon as money allows it. I was going to buy a sport bike but the lady isn't having any of it.
