price.dan, good work with Burwell.
I like that idea of getting everyone together on the same page.
The more people we can get the better.

On Thursday May 20, I fly into Regina. Then straight to Long Lake for the weekend.
I have some plans to get something built that should be super fun to hit. I also want to scope some winch spots around Craven.

After that, my summer is up in the air because the wife doesn't get any holidays because we are moving back to Sask in October. My plan is to leave her here in Calgary and head that way the week of July 1.

We should try to have the Regina Beach thing during that week.

BryceBell, I am envisioning a natural start pond that will be a damned up small stream that flows into the lake. I have a spot that I am thinking will be great and is just down the lake from my parents cabin. If that spot doesn't work out then there will be a major build in another spot on private land.

The Regina Beach thing should be just a fun day of winching.
We will have to see what works out as to what we can built for that one because it will be a highly visible event to unite existing riders and promote it to future rippers.

miller, it really depends where it is located.

IMO the best place to winch at RB is the main beach. Its perfect, cuz 1. the winch is higher up, since its on the grass hill, 2. the beach is shallow enough with a sand bottom (perfect for pushing my 16 ft TNT flat bar in), 3. the beach is a perfect shape to winch.

however since it is the main beach we would have to run the whole situation by parks and rec b/c they are in charge of the beach. I can guarantee that we wouldnt be able to do this in the beginning of July b/c the beach is going to be packed and they aren't able to justify closing it for everyone so a selected few can have fun and winch, although they should.

so... if we were going to have some kinda event, it would probably be best if it was during the week. since more than likely i'll be bartending July long, and the amount of people out there is always nuts.

if it was held somewhere else than the main beach this would be great cuz it could be our private little spot. but saying that, where were you thinking? I've winched down at kinookimaw and it blows to walk out the rope there cuz its so rocky and the water is weedy.

you and I are gonna have to take a drive on the highway to Craven, I kno for a fact on the river there is some unbelievable spots with high walls as the river meanders, perfect for blocking that sask wind.

ohhh yea and i've got the water pump for filling that pool Smash

keep in mind that I have a 3 section 40 ft rail (2-10ft sections & 1 20ft section). the 20ft section is on the banks of kinookimaw in little arm. I tried putting it in last year, but its a mud bottom and totally fvcked us. I'm 100% sure if we were to put it in there, we'd need to have a field day with sledge hammers, knockin them 4x4s into the mud.

price.dan, all good points

The spot I was thinking is east of my parents cabin on the south side. Just down from the a-frame on the point. It is on the south side of the old train track and would be all ours as boats can't get in there. There is a stream coming from the south that could be damned up for a nice little drop.

The Craven area needs to be scouted along with Lumdsen and up stream. Driving it would be cool but I think a little boat might be better.
