does it have the rubber protective coating on it? i know alot of people who hated that coating and would cut it off making the line smaller and lighter... i use 1000 feet 1/8 in line and i just got some bullet line and im gonna take off thecoating so i can fit it all on my spool

i run 12 tooth cvt with a 60 tooth driven

I have bulletline and it always would drag in the water on longer pulls, which definitely makes the ride jerky. I never considered taking the coating off and after reading this I probably will.

JeffKnox, does it float without the coating?

um i dunno if it floats... without the coating its just amsteel or whatever which is what alot of people bought in the first place... its plenty strong it just may not last as long...

im not sure if it floats or not but it is definately lighter so it dosnt drag nearly as much... just be careful not to cut the actual line lol

i agree that the coating makes the ride jerky on longer pulls. cutting the coating off is kinda a pain. i use a primative version where i drill a hole in a 2x4 and feed the line through, on the other side i hold a razorblade so it is just cutting the coating as it comes through, then get a buddy to steadily pull the line through and your on you way to a smoother pull. my record is about 30 min.. see if you can beat it.

I have 600ft of 1/8" Amsteel. It works perfectly. $132 shipped from Redden Marine in WA. Can't beat that price plus it's rediculously strong.

You'd be better off buying from go-kart supply shops. They actually use 1" axles and Horizontal shaft four-strokes, like the ones we use on our winches.

Dirt bike gear is way over priced anyway. Ask anyone on here who owns/maintains a dirtbike, how expensive chain and sprockets are.

Anything is possible, it might take some fabrication/machining though. I seriously doubt anything will bolt together without modifications.

Do you know what size chain they use on dirt bikes? I think its 520. Most dirt bike sprockets have a different bolt pattern than the hubs for a 1" axle. All you need to do is drill the sprocket's bolt pattern onto the hub, or make a whole new hub.
Hardest part is making a CC that has a sprocket with a compatible pitch as the chain you are going to use. Or make the correct sprocket for the driven pulley on a TAV. They only make TAV's for #35, or #40/41.
Probably going to be cheaper/easier to just buy stuff that bolts together, than making your own.

Sick collection!
Is that a QT50? Blue one with the basket on the bars. Oh wow, good times on one of those!
And are those Honda Elsinore's? The ones with the silver tanks, after the Husky.
I heart 2 stroke.
