yesterday i was in the terrain park riding with some folks. my friend fell on a cork 7(he landed several earlier), he hit his head on the snow really hard... knocking himself unconscious. we called the ski patrol. he started to wake up a bit while ski patrol was just arriving. they check him out and he seemed to be ok (other than a concussion). but when the ski patrol was checking him out he was complaining about his ear hurting. come to find out that when he hit his head, he hit it so hard that he broke off part of his ear bud inside of his ear to the point where they didn't want to take it out without a doctor present.
in ear head phones = danger? |

EJazzle, yeah but the ski patrol forced him to go to the hospital because he was knocked out for a couple minutes.
Gnarly Dancer 42, I am an instructor at Timber Ridge, i also build the park with Luke Schrab and Doug. I like Bittersweet but i think it would be twice as good if they spent more time grooming the park so things aren't so icy and rutted. I also cruise through WMU when we get a crew together. |

i'd say its kinda a dangerous thing.. but you can't really do too much about it. i have a burton hat that has flat headphones built directly into the ear flaps... pretty sick if you ask me _________________ liberation |

Gnarly Dancer 42, pretty much the only reason i started as an instructor was for the free season pass, but now i get pro-forms and it is hard to turn down anything 60%-75% off... so it isn't all bad
also i will see if i can get a discount card ($12 lift) |

| dylo, i would say that snakes and spontaneous human combustion are the last things i would be worried about while snowboarding, but in all seriousness, yea its nothing to be too concerned about but it can and does happen. |
