i use a 1-10 scale wen cutting but right before you hit the wake you must flatten out and that makes it a whole lot easier |

NewbSkate, if you slip out into a butterslide try hitting the water and quickly moving into a toeside edge if you going hs w2w. |

man i thought parky was good i mean he has like 2500 posts or somethin lol jk but when i usta do my w2w i'd go up and suck my legs up and when id look down the board would be flippin to the water without me so i learned that u have to keep the nose of the board higher while goin up its a lot different then jumpin on a wakeboard and to me its a lot easier without fins if that had to do with nethin.. |

does it help to grab your board and hold on to it when you start learning w2w on a wakeskate? _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com |

I have to agree with Parky on that one
wakeskate is more about liptricks imo... _________________

I think variety is the way to go. But wakeskating is about whatever you want it to be.
Wait, scratch that, it's all about the spine _________________

I agree with el, everything is fair game on a skate. I used to do a lot of W2W but have been getting into a little more of the lip trick stuff as of late. I think doing W2W tricks is much more rad on a skate than on a wakeboard. I don't care how many upside down flippy things you can do, it's still not as cool as a solid W2W grab on a skate.(IMHO)
Tips:
If you land and go out the back. You are putting too much weight on you back foot.
It does help to let the nose go up some to gain control of the deck in the air.
I usually tell people not to cut to their toeside edge when landing a heelside air. That encourages you not to be on your edge when you land. I believe that habit will cause you to go out the front more often later on.
Progressive edge! Handle placement is also key. You have to keep the handle close to your body, especially on toeside airs.
Controlling the board in the air is all about guiding the existing inertia of the skate. After you pop, the board wants to go up, so you suck your knees up to let it do that under your control. On the way down the board is falling, so you are pushing/guiding the deck back to the water with your feet. If you suck your knees up too fast you lose the board. If you straighten up too fast on the descent, you will most likely end up losing the board.
Hope that helps!
