umm I dont know if you guys dont know this but Liquid Force and Cassette used to be the same company this year is the first year they are seperate and doing diffrent things....I bet the riders just chose who they wanted to ride with and Tim chose Liquid Force I really dont think it is a sellout he is doing what he loves and thats all that really matters.

Mullet Jerk, not really. LF and Cassette were not the same company. LF helped out with Cassette promotion and distribution. It wasnt a matter of "look guys you just choose who you want to ride with". LF stole the Cassette designs, then took one of the guys off their team. I personally think TK's decision was not the smartest....but anyway.

by the way..."separate and doing different things" What's different about the LF 2004 boards to the Cassette 2003 skates?? NOTHING.

I remember reading an article, and Horrell said something that he will still be friends with the kids and that the guy had his own reasons. Sellout? I don't think so.

I think Tim stayed with LF because he had the chance to be their main wakeskater, whereas on Cassette, Hampson was coming on strong and like Thomas said in Alliance, he can't pay anyone half as much as he wishes he could. Tim will probably get more exposure riding for LF and that's something that is hard to turn down. I know him personally, he went to my high school and I'm good friends with his sister and he's real humble and really likes wakeskating. He's not a sellout, he's just doing his own thing.

fair enough.I realise the sellout thing was probably a bit harsh...I just think the whole LF wakeskate thing was pretty crap. Not really Tim but just the whole cassette rip off thing.

It's possible that LF is getting Cassette to manufacture the boards for them and then stick LF graphics on it. Kind of an OEM thing. People do it all the time.

It would be hard to go to another company after being with Cassette, but I'm sure Kovacich did what was in his best interest. I don't think he sold out, he just has to look out for himself. It is good that LF will have a good rider on their team. Hopefully he has the ability to work with LF on new shapes, ideas, etc.

byronnash, that is NOT the current situation with LF and Cassette...LF stole Cassettes CAD designs and started producing them themselves.

Jeremy it's obvious you don't know anything about what happened between LF and Cassette. If there wasn't an agreement to share the designs then obviously Cassette would have them in court right now. But the truth is that Thomas worked very closely with the LF designers on the current Cassette/LF designs. To accuse LF of stealing the CAD files is absurd.

clitmaster, he said DESIGNS, not graphics.

BillJ, Of course LF had access to them while they had an agreement, so I'm guessing under intellectual property laws they can legally use them afterwards...but it was Thomas and Cassette that came up with those designs, and when Don Wallace tried to say it was Jimmy Redmon thats when the shizzle hit the fan between Thomas and Wallace. They are Cassette designs that LF are now using and promoting as their own. Don't try and tell me that I have no idea what happened, it was here for all to see when they went their separate ways. Get off your high horse pal.

RIP OFF Devil Guy
