My friend has one that he uses just to swim off of its about 5x5. it just for plastic barrels under the corners. sticks out of the water about a foot but he has the barrels full. So if you just play around with the amount of air you should get it right.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that it isn't too challenging, if you have any experience with building you can probably wing it and build a nice floating box. You just need to figure out the dimensions, build the framework and then toss whatever material that you are planning on using on the top of it. Then to float it you just get 4 of those big blue drums and attach them to the base.

my friend and i built a floating dock/rail, the only problem was that it was a little short, so we might have to add to it or something. make sure you get pressure treated wood

depending on if your going ot make it so u can shuvit over it and stuff (like in thomas's back to back kick flip in astrisk) or if u actually wanna slide for a long time , a prefect box i would have to say is the one at Odub, but u can prob get away with a bit shorter.
Another alternative to barrells is using styrofoam, there prettty expensive but they will out last you , so u can use them for more then one project.

jsut use tire intertubes they work fine.
