Is 1"x1" steel tubing strong enough for winch?

Which is better: Torque a verter or centifigal clutch?

I weigh about 210 pounds. i have 6.5 hp engine. 12 tooth, 60, 72 tooth sprocket.

if the design is strong and the welding work is good, you should be fine. just make angles so it won't flex. With those settings, you will have trouble deep water starting with a clutch. Just depends on how you plan on using your winch. You might be fine starting sliding off of a platform. CC is more consistent speed, TC obviously stonger pull.

ur def gonna want a 68 tooth atleast if u are wanting to deep water start. i am 190 and use a 60 t and its just to small. but its great for the top end speed. i have a 6.5 with 12 t and 60t and works great for starting off the front of a kayak or little boat or canoe ect..
