local junkyard has engines for 65 bucks...car engines that is, is that to much power? im sure i could get gearing right through trial and error, but i have had problems with too much power before(old civic engine in a go kart, twisted the frame and soiled a pair of undies)

whachoo think?, dooable, or no?

Hell why don't you just shoot the person you're thinking of pulling... would seem like less hassle than killing them with a winch Wink

Seriously though, it would be a hassle because of the weight and dimensions of the engine. You'd only really need first gear and could really measure out the start with the clutch.
The downside is that your winch is gonna end up weighing about 200kg because of the engine, the gearbox and the frame you'd need to hold it all...

You could, however, go for speed winching sessions in 5th gear and full throttle... Twisted Evil

Bonis69, don't listen to cori, sure jeff's got a surefire winch... but you, you could build a whole WINCHCAR!! it's drives and winches all in one... you won't even need a real car anymore. just drive to the winch spot... put it in Neutral (for power take off) THEN SET THE BRAKE, and then engage the winch tranny and tear it up.... Twisted Evil

it could be sick Cool
