ya that happens to alot of people or they do sex changes you might want to try and set yur foot further up the board and not so far off the side and try to flip it forward. |

your most likely flicking your front foot in the wrong direction. a common problem with groms trying to do kickflips is that they're trying to do kickflips before they can ollie solidly and consistently. and if they can kickflip they're usually flat, dodgy and really gay looking.
my suggestion is stop trying any tricks until you can consistantly do solid ollies at about knee height. once you can do that then work on kickflips. remember, the ollie is the fundamental base behind just about every trick there is. _________________ the tap - crailtap.com

For whatever reason, when I ollie on flat ground it's like 6 inches at the most. But if there's something in front of me, like anything from a milk jug to a bench, I can ollie right over it. So I suggest ollieing stuff, it forces you to get up there higher. _________________

For some reason I think Ollying works that way for everybody. I probably can't ollie more than a little over a foot high just riding, but I can olly up onto small picnic tables which are considerably higher than that. It might be because you just pop the board up there, and once it is there you don't have to worry about landing or anything, I guess it just gives you something to shoot for. _________________ death before dishonor.

jerrysk8, i know how to ollie...i just think i am flicking the board too early like before i totally pop the ollie, i thought it was turnin varial because of my back foot draggin like a shuv maybe???

just pop the board exactly like you were to ollie. once you've popped the tail level the board out by flicking it diagonally out in the kickflip direction. suck your legs up and stomp your landing.
like you said, the board could be rotating coz your draggin your back foot like a shuv, but you know how to ollie so you should be able to fix that. the other problem might be that your flicking your front foot in the wrong direction. if you flick it out in front of you too much, will force the board that way(into a shuv flip).
try standing square and with your shoulders closed off, like your riding switch. i do this when i want to do my kickflips real fat and solid.
just practice, practice, practice and you'll find your way. _________________ the tap - crailtap.com
