todd777, plenty of us do. what are you looking for specifically.
honestly, your best bet is to look up near the top of this page and find the search button, then type in what your looking for (winch, winch plans, spool, TAV, axle, hubs, winch frame, line, handle, hand brake, throttle, etc...)
it will show you all the forums and posts that have that info, cause there are a bunch of people on this site that have built a winch from plans that we have posted on here.
good luck, read all those other posts and then feel free to ask any additional questions _________________

cenflskate, haha dude your awesome
todd777, DIY stands for "do it yourself"... id love to help you out and get started but giving you detailed instructions of how to build it kinda defeats the purpose...
if you have any specific questions lemme know... and this should help you get started...

also you can browse winchskating.com and the winch section of this forum _________________ PAVT since '05/'06 |

I have a few questions,
How do you stop the rope once the rider has finished?
Do I need a throttle?
Do I need a brake?
Is getting an electric start motor needed?
What sort of rope is best?
If I can get these questions answered I think I can tweak some variation into my design. _________________ "F" yeah for wakeskating |

todd777, a brake will stop the rope, or you can shut off the motor
1. yes need throttle, engines will have them built in... but you may want to design your own hand throttle
2. brake not necessary, but nice to have (i don't have one)
3. pull start motor is fine.... unless your a complete wuss. (still love yall with your electric starts)
4. bulletlines winch rope. www.bulletlines.com they make 600' and 1000' the 1000 is like $325ish.
enjoy feel free to ask any more Q's _________________

todd777, only downside to electric start is its heavier with the starter and the battery...
i dont have a brake but its nice to have in certain areas... ive needed it before
any rope that dosnt stretch and is 1000 pounds breaking stregnth is ideal... bullet lines sells a quality product...
stock throttles are completly fine
t-Rex, sorry if you already answered those q's im really tired and just skimmed these posts _________________ PAVT since '05/'06 |
