which dvd should i use + or -

Im going to be using my dvd burner in the near future and ive read on some other forums and web pages and all that that some say one of the 2 works better then the other. so idk which pack of dvd's i should get.. the DVD-R or the DVD+R... im not real worried i just dont want to make any dvd's and they only work on certain dvd players or w/e. i know some ppl might think doesnt seem like there is a difference to me, but if anybody knows the difference, please help me out/let me know. i would really appreciate it. ive read that dvd-r works with older players and some new ones dont accept it, but then dvd+r is newer and works with the new ones but some older ones dont accept it, so thats what im stumped on. If anybody knows like what type of dvd any of the wakeskate movies were put on, id really appreciate it.
