they are virtually the same thing, trex is about 2us dollars more. see if you can get fiberon, or if you have to you could build a little box with pvc sheeting, but it's expensive.

Okay I found the thread, but which side of the trex/fiberon slides the best, and will 3 poles work fine for a 12' rail?

Slide the flat side of the Trex. I used 4 poles for 16ft on mine so I would think 3 would be ok on 12ft.

edit: here are the pics of the one I built, Nick T rail FTMFW

my broke ass went to home depot and priced everything.

Colorado is finally getting warm - water is still under 50, but Im stoked to build this thing.

18oz rubber mallet $16.88
3 1" floor flanges $4.84 ea. - $14.52
3 1" x 10' poles $16.24 ea. - $48.72
5/4"/6"/12' composite decking gray color $21.97
5/4"/6"/12' Thompsonized deck $11.97
stainless steel 2" and 3" screws - probably about $10
spray paint about $5

Total = 129.06 + tax.

I might use a thicker piece of wood under the trex, so the thing lasts forever. I'm also going to spraypaint the wood either dope green or straight black. I will post pics when I am done. Just sold a 3yr old wakeboard on craigslist for $160!

Usually about thigh deep. Depends on how high you want the rail.

So what are your suggestions for about 4 1/2 feet deep water, with soft mud covering the bottom?

Well if your poles are only 6 feet in lenth, youll run into a little problem. Try to find water thats just a little more shallow, you actually dont have to put them to deep into the mud to make it sturdy. Get a feel for it.

DMoneyy, ya these wakeboarders came by and chopped a leg off to make it an incline and they broke it, then when we took it out to move it we realized the leg was like split in half.

Wanna get the crew together and make one of these NT ones? looks easy enough, and hopefully won't break like our other ones haha
