it slides fine.

the poles are 1 inch(like 70 inches long i think). the flanges(circle disk things) are also 1".

Synthetic wood(top part), plain wood(bottom part).

finished.

urinal mint, how many feet would you say the legs are buried in the ground?

we bought 10 foot poles and i think they're too long, so i was wondering where i should cut them

Gnarly Dancer 42, i would just try them out at 10 feet first.. some spots are softer than others and it usually sinks slowly after hitting it for a while, too.

lake tarpon, we cant even pound them in because the water we are riding is cheast deep, so the rail standing up is at least 3 feet over our heads. i was wondering if urinal mint knew what would be a good length to have sunk into the ground so its sturdy

Get a ladder. If you sacrifice any length off of the poles, you will make the rail less sturdy.

so we tried out the rail today, and it took us an hour to pound the dang thing in. (we had a small rubber mallet wich looked something like this = Smash ) then my mom brought out the sledgehammer and it was faster, but by then we had the rail in about 3 feet deep into the ground and only about five mins of pounding left. the rail worked good, but was a little short at 16 feet. when we took it out we noticed that the screws were coming out of the wood, and when we pulled up the posts the top of it broke off. Shocked

Gnarly Dancer 42, wtf?

i had 10lb rubber(with sand in it) sledge hammer. mine was only 12ft. and hammered within 5-10 minutes. of course, i was in very boggy mud and about 5ft water depth.

i was at home depot today and almost bought 24 ft. of trex for my new rail but backed out when i noticed the price for them.

my next rail will be from 16-24 ft. long and maybe double trex like this: ======.

Will update. Sorry to hear it didn't work out that well Gnarly Dancer 42.

i made a 24 ft. ========= double flat guy out of all preasure treated. it was expesnive, probably like 250-300.00 but i deffinately think its a good set up. and will last a long time. but so will the medal. so if you are on a budget that is deffinately a good option.

go bigger than 12ft.

12ft. is fun if your funds are limited.

skatefilly, did you use the pole concept like i did with that double wide 24ft rail?

if so, how did it go?

i'm wanting to do a 16ft.+ double wide but am worried if the poles will be stable enough...?
