get some frp (fiberglass reinforced paneling) from home depot or lowes, they come in 4x8 ft. sheets, are only like an 8th of an inch thick, but they are super sturdy and textured so that you slide super easy on it...im working on a kicker right now with that at the surface, only drawback is that its like 30 bucks a sheet.....just use some liquid nail and put a thin coat down and lay the frp on it...smooth side down, it like bonds it to the wood ur somethin....water wont effect it

liqe skates, if your rich you can do what he said............. OR if your a broke like me just sheet it with two layers of Ply-wood, then go and by some FIberglass Resin......... and Resin the whole top of it and with whatever is left over just put it on everything....... just make sure to put it on qhick and smooth........

Ya I agree with Pirate...I works pretty good and it's like way cheaper, it just mangles your board haha...mabey it's because I missed the "smooth" part haha...
How big is your kicker?
