|
|
I was watching the Snap credits and I saw Brian do that kickflip off the end of the rail at The Projects and I almost started to cry, I think Brian Grubb is the most improved wakeskater in the past two years and I think he is the best hands down, i was wondering if anyone knew of anyone else kickflipping off the end of rails. |

yeah maybe it was that funny fennit guy wasnt he doing kickflips onto the box. And yeah i agree grub is one of the best skaters out for sure. HE may not be doing all the technical flip tricks but he seems very consistent, can takle any rail built, even the ones some wakeboarders wont hit. ANd yes that kickflip off the rail is crazy. I think i saw a sequence of it in alliance magazine but i have also seen it in snap. Probably one of the best tricks done in a long time. _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

I remember a topic brought up about this when SNAP first came out. That is definetly sick, but it is mob as all hell. He basically kicks it down to the water and lands on top of it. BUT, that's not even really Mr. Grubb's fault, it's really not possible to "catch" a kickflip without popping it up. So it's mob, but it's not like anybody could do any better off a slide without a way to pop the tail or even a lip. Maybe the kicktails on the Gate could get some pop going off rails? _________________

I don't "catch" my kickflips up high on my skateboard either. Doesn't mean they're not kickflips. Just less stylish. |

Ya I agree Grubb has improved a lot in the past 2 years and hes just one of the best all around ya i think he kinda stole the show in Asterisk* IMO when he landed the sexchange. I think Asterisk* shut the people who said Grubb couldnt kickflip because he landed 2 kickflips and a sexchange.

you could use the leverage of the board on the rail to get pop. i remember watching rick maccrank backlip flipout on handrail. _________________ the tap - crailtap.com

HA!! That dave...
I have a question: how exactly is grubb the most improved? He's always been a rail slayer...he perfected his skills at owc. Is this being said because he didn't always get a lot of coverage or what? Don't get me wrong, I think grubb is cool and he's a talented rider, but I dont' understand what makes him the most improved... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

e-snow, i think they are talking more about the flat water tech stuff instead that he was never known for. he was always known for w2w and rails and now he is pushing it on the lip and inside out stuff and flats tricks. he has deffinately inproved a ton |

i dont know why so many wakeskaters hate and get down on brian grubb so much, because he clearly is the best, and most consistent guy in the business and until you can do the same please dont even post a reply if you are gonna be a grump I'd say, YOU KNOW NOTHING. |
