hey just bought:
8hp off brand engine brand new that replaces the hondagx250 all parts are interchangable for 150+60ship
TAV2 for the 1inch diameter shaft 10tooth sproket for a #41
(is the 10 tooth sproket going to be ok only type of tav i could find for the 1inch diameter shaft) 150+7ship off ebay
going this week to get steel for frame pretty much going off of leperchans frame blue print.
so i think this is a good start more questions and progress picks soon hope to have it done by end of the month going to build a pool gap into my pond behind house + rail

Soo today i got the Tav bolted/welded on the engine lol and started and ran the engine for about an hour to break-in.
I got a big ole 8hp its really big compared to most ive seen. i could only align 2 bolts so i torqued them down and welded that sucker on there. Then i go to put the retainging bolt on the driver pulley the damn bolt was too small for the shaft soo i welded that sucker on too lol.
i ran it for a while taking the govenor off and running it wide open. thing is soo loud. the tav works perfect. the angle is off a hair between the pulleys but doesnt look to hurt |

well i got a nice hobart mig welder. i grinded and grinded got tired of it and cranked the welder up. put it on highest setting and lowest wire speed and watch the case and tav backingplate melt together. works for me ive ran it for aboue 2 hours now off and on everything looks good. idles perfect and goes crazy with no govenor and full throttle. lol
getting the steel this weekend going to weld that frame all up and should have it done by end of month latest.
i have a pond out back im going to build a pool gap into and couple rails.
pics to come i promise |

bored as all get out at school so i thought i post some more plans i have for the winch
i have a big ole dodge 4x4 long bed truck and i was thinking of setting it up so the winch will actually bolt right into the bed of my truck as close to the tail gate as possible. this way i could back right up to a spot put it in 4x4 if needed in open the tailgate and go.
also people always talk about mounting lights for nightwinching soo im going to mount 2 lights on my bed rails/ 2 on bumper. and then have couple hooks up in the bed for larger lights |

be careful with the rope guide. It concerns me as if the rope was to hit the sharp edge of the locking clip things could go really wrong. You may want to manufacture something else for the guide, or pick up one of the roller guides that a lot of winches are using these days.. rope friction on metal is no bueno.
looks good though man, you're going to have some fun with it _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com |
