I know it all depends on what you're winching but 1000' seems like an awful lot.. question for anyone that has the 1000' bulletline do you ever get close to using all of it? Or do you guys think 600' is plenty..

600 is good for pretty much everything, except for ocean winching like twgapk said. I'm going to add some more line to winch soon so that i can get a little bit longer pull in the waves Very Happy

Brett Leadley, i'll have a 1000' bullet line pretty soon, im looking forward to it. ive had a 500' rope in my winch for a long time and ive found plenty of things where 1000' would be really nice.

If you can get the 1000, I'd get it. Like B said sometimes 5000 comes up short.

By the way Brett Leadley, I had a dream last nite we we're ripping in a flooded oversized McDonald's parking lot behind the ski. You we're 2 for 2 on bs flips. Shocked

Yeah Im going with the 1000' better safe than sorry. You also gotta think of the fact that your spool is part of the gearing ratio for the winch. As it get smaller and biggeer your ratio changes a lil. But with a 1000' your spool will always have at least a few 100'.

Bad Luck, will that grinch hold a 1000'?

I heard for a 1000' rope your need a spool 12" diameter, 7" wide and 6" inside diameter. But Ken at bullet lines said they were going to make they're next spool with a 15" outside diameter. That seems ridiculously big.

How big is the spool on the grinch?

Rhino, it depends on the size of the rope... my grinch has over 1000 ft of line on it
