Hey, I'm new to the forum so Hi!

I've been starting to try kickflips on the flat (ride cable) this year, and have managed one where the board span real nice but I'd kicked it too far away.

Does anyone have any suggestions for foot placement, where to kick etc. It doesn't seem to work the same as kickflips on a skateboard.

I've just been sorted out with a Gate, which seems to have helped as you can stand right on the tail with the ball of your foot.

Cheers.

Paul

I've been trying kickflips from outside the wake in. I just go for a regular cut into the wake, pop all the way and then kick down (drew style I guess). It seems to work just fine, I land on the board and all I just cant ride away. I dont get it.....oh well.

flats is easier because your doing it going straight, not moving to the side like in/out ones. the only trick is popping enough but once you get that down it flips nice, and yeah fins do help, just one on the back. time it right, like on a skateboard. you can practice on a trampoline except in the water you lean back more

i actualy learned them form the inside out last year and thats alot easyer then the flats, you have way more air time that way, but do it like a skateboard, i think they are way to easy for people to be freaking out about them, its so simple, just pop, flick, catch and land. and BAM just like that you got it. just dont let it get to your head. this might help....

that means ur kicking hard enough, just in the wrong spot. u have to kick it right on the edge. it takes less effort to spin a kickflip right than it does to spin a 360 shuvit. slide ur foot more to the edge AS you kick
