sliding on wood?

most of the rails Iv noticed are pvc but I have athis 8 foot wooden beam with rounded edges and I was wodnering if the skates and wakeboards slide well on the wooded surface.

and does a steel pipe ruin the bottom of the boards and skates very much?

it don't work out quite good when wood meets wood on rails but a kicker ramp u can get away with it..but u can try

go to home depot and buy pvc planks, drill them the "beam" and you are good to go.....steel would probably just do the same thing as it does to skateboards but the pipe will start to rust.
