Definitely make your own, we used one of those clamp down lids from a cookie jar as the seal, and five cut pieces of plexi glass as siding. It works well and doesn't leak. Just load up on the superglue and sealent. |

Unless your are really handy and have a lot of spare time I suggest buy an epik housing. If you make your own and your camera gets wet its your fault. _________________ "it's just wakeskating, no one knows who you are............ except for maybe some kids on the internet" Nick Sloan |

What is wrong with ewa-marines bags?
I have one and it has worked fine for me. It doesen't protect the camera from hits
but that is ok. There is quite a big price difference to epic housings. The epic ones look pretty good tought. Remember if the housing breaks and your camera gets wet epic or ewa-marine quarantee only the housing not the camera.
So be careful even if you by a manufactured housing prior of making your own. |

Return policy/warranty info
http://www.epiccam.com/store/agora.cgi?cartlink=Return_Policy.htm&cart_id=3491077.6818*uJ4gG03491077.6818
from the ewa-marine website:
Take your camcorder underwater to film beautiful coral fish or make an exciting film of your rafting trip? The problems associated with such adventures are readily appreciated but quickly overcome with an ewa-marine video housing. Each housing is individually tested for use to a depth of 10m (33 ft). Remarkably light (ca. 500 gr.) and still robust, they provide effective protection against sand, dust, rain, seawater , mud, humidity as well as all other adverse conditions. We even offer a one-year guarantee on the housing. |
