I do. Anyone feel like sharing what got them started?
Last spring break I tore my ACL, LCL and medial meniscus, putting a major damper on wakeboarding (the sport I have been doing for 7 years now) And by the time summer rolled around I could barely ride. Then Beaver hooked me up with a skate, and I literally only rode my wakeboard one more time after that. I can't beleive I didn't start sooner. I'm no good on the grand scale at all but I progressed so much faster on a skate than I ever did with straps...
whatever, I'm bored, share inspiring/sappy/scary stories |

| Got bored with wakeboarding...you can only progress so far with a non-wakeboard boat boat. Watched Free4All...saw Grubby and TimmyK kill it. Made a homemade board over the off season, tried it out the following summer and I was hooked. I'm not exactly good at it...still have trouble with shuvs...but just going out and just slashing and doing lip tricks is just so relaxing and so fun, who cares if you can't do k-flips or big spins. |

| Ctipping, it sucks that it took a similar injury (ACL/MCL/Medial Meniscus) to see the light and the way, I wish I would have discovered it sooner. I am also progressing faster on a skate than strappin. |

| i onyl wakeboarded once at texas ski ranch then i picked up an alliance magazine on my way out, saw wakeskating and thought it was cool. then i searched for a forum, found this one and then i ordered a wakeskate from a member. then i went to texas ski ranch the next weekend and just winged it. i got up my first try and was hooked. im not very good yet i can only ollie, some surface stuff, and i landed a shuv but without the rope but i still have a ton of fun. i still strap on a wakeboard everyonce in a while behind the ski just to slid around or see how fast i can go and hold on, but wakeskating is where its at for me, i love the freedom you have on the board, and i only have a jetski so its a better scenario for me. plus its really cool because now me and a bunch of friends can chill on the lake all day and nothing beats chilling on the lake. i <3 the wakeskating |

simple equation:
wakeboarding<torn ACL<wakeskating = freedom (no, not a.reed, just the feeling ) _________________

| I saw some pics of people wakeskating in Wakeboarding Mag and was really amazed and interested in it. I built my own and from there on i wakeskated 90% of the time. |

I never done any water sports before and my friend asked me to go out on the river and try wake skating. After that i was hooked after only this summer of riding i've done so much and i am progressing so fast i can ollie high, hit rails and throw shuvs out and i finally hit a 3 shuv last saturday. I'm now looking to get my own gear. _________________ Whateva i wakeskate where i want! |

I was involved in the skate industry somewhat I managed a shop and skated for 7 years as an amateur for 2 years but responsibility and injuries got in the way and I had to take a long hiatus from skating during which time my parents got serious about pushing wakeboarding (secretly I think they were trying to get me away from skateboarding lol b/c I got so beat up all the time) so they upgraded the boat, and I wakeboarded for a while, then a friend and I saw what Tho was doing with some vid and we made a wakeskate out of an old trick ski and I have been hooked ever since, I still strap but very rarely _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |
