|
|
Does anybody no what the byerly ad (2 pages) in the latest wakeboardingmag if for?
It is a picture of byerly's back and there is a quote: the legacy lives on
No companyname and no name of the photographer.
Looks like an ad for a new brand? Ronix wakeskates? Byerly wakeskates?
Any ideas? |

I dont think he'd leave hyperlite for ronix, but you never know i guess, I've never seen of heard of him switching sponsors. ronix looks like a sick company, even though I havent seen any boards yet, very elegent in the logo and stuff |

I beleive the purpose of the ad is exactly this topic, to get people talking about the ad wondering what its for so they can promote byerlys new company. Marketing at its best. |

Byerly has not left Hyperlite... Byerly is getting his own brand under Hyperlite called "Byerly" ... I'm not sure on all the details really but in no way has he left...
Ronix will not be making a Wakeskate for 07... They are all boarding right now
Hyperlite will get getting rid of the Kharma and BT will have a pro model for 07...
the 07 grubb...

Quote: | as i understand things, Byerly will have a new company under HL that is similar to the Jordan brand under Nike. |
Which is basically what Parky just stated above.... |

That new Catalyst looks really good, I like the fact that they put foam in "crazy" colours on them. But:
1) It still looks too darn narrow
2) ehh foam... sucks. Griptape option maybe? _________________ 01/20/2009. Niko-chan! |

deepcove, my post was made at the same time as parky's, so please excuse my repetitiveness.
Maria, the catalyst logos on either end of the board are actually griptape. it basically felt like really dense foam with griptape surface on top of it. grubb said it was done so that there was a tad bit more grip for spin tricks. not sure if im a fan of the blue/purple color scheme. the colors of the board in the second pic are way blown out, so take that picture for what it's worth. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

electricsnow, last year i bought the 05 byerly. learned alot on it. the boars has real good edging and weight. the thing i didn't like was the thickness, and that the concave didn't go out to the edge of the board. now that i look at the pic of the new catalyst, i looks like it may be thinner. what do you think?
my boi still rides the same board i bought early last year. it is so gnarled up. there is a considerable resistance you can feel from other boards.
i was hoping for maybe a thinner deck with reshapeable edges? i heard somewhere on here that they were gonna do that with theyre wakeboards.
i really don't have bad things to say about hype. |

scott a, So they've mixed griptape and foam? Weird... The thing I don't like about foam is that it's too dense, you sort of get the feeling of sinking down into the shizzle. I wonder if that rubber-stuff Burton use on their snow decks would work on a wakeskate... _________________ 01/20/2009. Niko-chan! |
