What skateboarders do you guys most admire? Who's got the skills and the style? I don't care about the whole hesh vs. fresh thing, let's just hear about who rips. Not necessarily sponsored skaters either, it could just be a local dude you know who kills it.

Tom Penny, Jamie Thomas, and I love watching Alex Chambers (sp?) and there is this dude I see at the park sometimes named Jim and he is sick.

penny really is amazing; so natural. he looks like he's not even thinking about it when he does a trick, like it just comes out of him by itself.

were you referring to alex chalmers who rides for flip? Canadian dude, skates a lot of concrete parks...

Yep, hes the dude. I love those massive transfer grabs and spins. He makes it look like snowboarding. I wish wakeskating could look like that. Just big floated grabed spins. Damn handle. Ohh well, thats what makes wakeskating unique. I wanna start utalizing it more and trying to glide out some of my grabs.

Sorry; I didn't mean Ryan Sheckler's my favorite skater, I meant that he's the one who won the X-Games. He came and skated at this little local skatepark in Alabama, and he ripped that park harder than anyone I had ever seen before, by far. He's a tiny little kid, too.

As for favorite skaters, I'd say Guy Mariano, Koston, Danny Way, the Gonz, Mike Carrol, and Tom Penny. That's just a few though, really.

look man, if you don't know enough about skateboarding to know who Rodney Mullen is, you're not allowed to have a favorite skater.

Lol sk84life, yeah, I am dissapointed at how few people skate. I know that the reason I like wakeskating so much is because I love the water and skating. Its so nice to be able to kick it at the lake and skate at the same time. Also, I was watching Misled Youth and I forgot how bad ass Adrian Lopez is. Kills it.

thanks guys. I thought it was justified. the guy practically invented modern street skating, but nobody knows that. They just know how to do his special move on pro skater 4.

crackerjack,
you're right man. there really seem to be very few wakeskaters who actually skateboard. it's a shame really, because I get more ideas for tricks from skateboarding and watching skate videos than from anywhere else.

Lopez is the man. He does such crazy stuff, but he's got such a calm style you'd never know it. He's on my top 5 back tails list. Have you seen his part in Thrill of it all? It was the first Zero video way back in the day. That part blew the mind of the little skate rat that I was back then. I love Jaime Thomas in Misled Youth too. The combination of amazing skating and great music is perfect. He's got to be the most driven skateboarder there is.

My friend is bringing over Dying to Live tonight. I am anxious to see it. The whole Zero team is rad.(yeah, I said it... what?) I'll be sure to give some highlights.
