Monster has a sterling reputation for amazing customer service, and having a rock solid product. I definitely think that's something to consider. I've never heard of the CMC Typhoon tower, but the Monster's are absolutely rock solid.

kurlyman, I've got a MonsterTower on my boat back home. I've only had one problem with it (a bolt broke when we bent the tower in an odd direction while folding it down) but I contacted the company and with no questions asked, they sent me a replacement part. Insallation is relatively easy, it comes with a good sheet of directions although we had a friend who does fibarglass work on boats install it for us because quite frankly, I didn't trust myself. The ability to fold it flat is nice as well, it fits perfectly underneath my boat's stock cover when folded down.

The tower is extremely solid and if it's possible for you money-wise, I would definately reccomend it.
