hyperlite skates

ive noticed that alot of people on this site arent big hyperlite wakeskate fans i was just wondering why because i have the byerly and brandon thomas gave me a gate that i havent got a chance to ride yet but what do you guys not like about them?

Never rode the Byerly, I rode the catalyst. But I've ridden the gate and let me tell ya, the kicktails are more pointless than binoculars are to a blind man. They just get in the way on ollies. Plus the skates are kinda light, weight-wise.

i also have a byerly. but i rode a cassette the other day and found out what i was missing! hyperlites are too light and i like the rounded edges much better. i also think that the cassettes have alot more pop.

The only thing good about the Hyperlite Catalyst is that it will out last a wood deck... that is the ONLY thing that makes them better. Personaly i would rather ride a water logged Cassette than ride that ghey ass fiberglass pile of junk. And both statments above are VERY true, if you are a skateboarder you should know the diffrence in about two seconds of riding one. As for the gate they should of called it the GAY-TE!
