Good call. All of the cables I've been to are not very skate friendly. Wakeboarders never fall so it is better for us to have an outboard boat or a winch. Smaller rails and lap limits please. I never want to ride a wakeboard again but I love my wakeboard pals. That said, If I never shared water with a wakeboarder again I would be fine. My opinion is our sport is a little tough at first and that scares most people away. I've been on a skate for over 15 years and I still suck. We should all try to encourage people to learn and hang in there or else boat surfing will kill us.

I dont feel like the sports are taking as drastic of directions as you are seeming to want.
With that said, is it really necessary?

If a kid plays soccer, and football, does participating in one take away from the other? In most cases just getting faster, having better foot skills/movements is making you better at both. I know these sports have nothing to do with wakeskating, but I just will never understand the seemingly constant need for wakeskaters to need to be recognized as a seperate sport. Literally the only thing I understand is how different setups are better for one or the other.

I dont feel like I've ever heard a wakeboarder say negative things about wakeskating in general. Other than to note how difficult it is.

I skate and strap, both now days, and honestly its every time I skate that several strappers will give cheers and be pumped on anything I do on the skate. Seems like the two sports can coincide just fine to me

My winch partner is a strapper. I take him to the big ass and sometimes sketchier spots I definitely wouldn't do on my skate just to watch him kill it! He returns the favor by driving for me on smaller stuff he would rather have no part of. It all works out.

Oh, and not all cables are built around strappers. Before KC Watersports was purchased by its current owners (one of which is an avid wakeskater), original owner Mike Olson (also an avid skater) did his best to cater his park to wakeskating AND wakeboarding.
