Why do they insist on calling setups like these with drops "bi-levels" Rolling Eyes

setup looks pretty sub-par to me. like everyone has said, guys are gonna shred it just fine, however i feel like obscura MIGHT (not positive, just assuming so i could be wrong) have the funding to do something a little more creative than a flat bar / drop. I mean even watching the WM trip to the Philippines we saw stuff like corrugated pipe, tabletop, polejam, rails on walls, etc... it just seems like they could do so much more than this setup. and I understand it's simple, but its not like street league just has one drop and one flat bar. I feel like if you really wanna see some hammers and maybe change up the outcomes of the competition, you gotta add some more features.

johnnyk, when you have a two trick line, you can see the best tricks go down. When the line gets longer, people go to easier tricks

wakemitch, i mean to an extent but i meant more in terms of the actual setup, i wasn't really talking about a line. i was thinking more along the lines of maybe a more creative obstacle than a sketchy I-beam

At first glance I also thought this was only a one trick line, but when I looked closer I saw the flat rails in the background. The picture makes them look 10 feet high so I'm wondering if they are going to raise the water level. It would make the whole setup a little more friendly.

I don't know that this set up has anything to do with obscura...

The wakeskate tour instagram commentary on this feature is completely positive. We will see what riding comes out of it and how the riders feel soon enough. It should be interesting.

I don't understand the bi-level comment because the naming seems self explanitory. Two different vertical levels, not limited to just wakeskate design. Wink

I think the set up looks great (that drop is big) and I am sure some people put a lot of effort into it. Perhaps others should not be so critical on the side lines and be thankful others are giving their time to make this tour to happen.

I think it's fun to see these pros hit everything different under the sun. Sometimes they will get a sweet box or steps with rails but at certain spots you gotta go with what you have like us regular folk.. This does look like pallets nailed together with a tarp and a rusty ol rail but at least it's not raw sewage with floaters.. Maybe these are early pics of this stop before they set up the next rail?
