I think I already know the answer to this one, but my brother and I were talking about this awhile back and I think it would be interesting to hear what some other opinions were.
Do you think tramp skating helps you learn tricks when you can't be on the water, or does it teach bad habits? _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com

Gnarly Dancer 42,As long as you are learning and practicing the tricks with correct form you shouldn't develop any bad habits. I would say tramp skating deserves a great deal of credit when concerning the progression of my wakeskating capabilities.
I know a lot of riders who would say the same thing. I wouldn't consider tramp skating as a crucial tool for progression, but I think it has been helpful for a lot of riders. Tramp skating has the ability to cultivate better style, much like skateboarding for wakeskating. Most of my favourite styles in wakeskating come from people who I know are talented at tramp skating, I don't find that to be a coincidence. |

Marcus needs to get on here because I know he has said he uses it all the time and it keeps up his riding even when he can't ride for long periods of time. But anyway yeah it has for sure helped me even in skateboarding. I learned kickflips skateboarding after learning on tramp. Same thing with Tre flips. I'm sure its helped me get closer on kickflips wakeskateing (I can at least get half a rotation now). _________________ ---------------------------

I think tramp skating, as well as carpet skating or actually skateboarding is good for muscle memory and figuring stuff out without pressure from a driver or anyone else. Does anyone tramp skate with a wakeskate instead of a skateboard? 'Cause that's hard. |

Trampskating was the most valuable tool for me (besides actually wakeskating) to improve muscle memory and learn new tricks. I for sure owe landing kickflips on a wakeskate to trampskating. I do it on a wakeskate occasionally, but usually I do it on a skate deck. I think that really just comes down to personal preference though. I definitely trampskate an absurd amount of time when I'm at school because I don't get to ride too often up there, like 11RANDOMNESS said. |

I have been trampskating with a wakeskate and it has created a small crack in the middle my ronix electric collective 43". It has definitely improved my strength of flicking the board on tricks like kickflips and shuvits but has done lots of damage to my wakeskate. I am worried my wakeskate will get further damaged from this crack in the water and will eventually lead to the board snaping. |

Wow I'm sorry about that autocorrect. I'd get urself a different skate than the ronix. Something with grip. Marine products has remotes... Also other good skates. |
