A Tattered Line of String is the name of it. Sub Pop posted it on YouTube today.

I think anyone who was aound when Sfumato came out has a strong connection to Give Up. It was so far ahead of its time. I like this.

Not really feeling it either. Maybe its bc I have too many memories tied to that original Postal Service cd.

Very interesting. Not really in to this track too much but it does get me excited about the possibility of a new album.

Kind of makes me a little nervous though and I almost wish they wouldn't call it "Postal Service". That one album was such a piece of art.

I totally agree. I'm sure most people here have some memories associated with their album, and it's hard to remove yourself from that when listening to this song.

I do like this song, though. It would be interesting to see what a new Postal Service full-length album would sound like. One of the things that I appreciate most about musicians is how they change over the span of 10-15 years.

I love that one video created this crazy connection to an album and a band. My sister sent me a stop motion edit with the faint and "hospital" and of course i immediately think of danny and sfumato. Those connections are really amzing to me...it makes the video and time feel really special.

That said, it will take a bit for the song to really grow on me, but like some of you said, i'm really excited for the potential of new music from this group.

Unfortunately, it sounds like this song (and one other new song) are going to be included on a re-release of their old album 'Give Up.' So, there won't be a new album or anything like that. Oh well...

I did see the album is a 10 year anniversary thing, but they're still gathering and putting out some tunes. Maybe it will build, maybe not...but i hope a few new jams are, really good.

Re-release? I'll sure as hell throw down for a limited edition vinyl if that happens. I'd pay silly money for that, haha.

Here's all the info on the anniversary release. Includes 15 bonus tracks, and two brand new tracks (including the song posted above).

*puts on hipster glasses*

Yeah man, if that's like, your thing that's cool. Digital music is just so impersonal and cold. Vinyl gives you such a warm sound....

The Postal Service is digital music Laughing

I love vinyl too though. I just thought that was funny, but I know you were joking too.

wakemitch, haha, yeah. I don't care about that shizzle at all. I like my pocket full of perfect sounding music on my iPhone.

I like vinyl because I like to collect things. I really don't care much about the sound difference at all. It does make blues music sound a bit cooler though but anything modern is best in crystal clear digital format.

Same. I listen to my records maybe once or twice haha. It's just cool to have. I love good album art.

So YouTube is streaming Coachella again...

They sounded really good. Ben Gibbard had a ton of energy, and so did the girl that does the female vocals. Their performance was better than most of the stuff that I've seen from the bands at this year's Coachella event.
