just moved my winch from my rent's house in Illinois out to colorado. anyways the higher elevation is messing with the top end speed and making the 6.5hp Champion engine (honda knock off) really sluggish. know of any fixes to get it up and running top notch? already checked everything from the air filter, gas, oil, etc. heard about jetting the engine, but not a engine mechanic.

Where are you at? I live just west of Vail. It is definitely the carb, and definitely the jetting. I am no master but could probably find out a quick fix.

Good write up here on jetting 2 stroke motors for elevation (relates to all 2 stroke motors essentially). Read and you will master Smile

sorry for coming to the party late, it is all about the jet, my 13HP engines have started coming with extra jets for higher elevations which is cool, check out affordablegokarts.com for the right jet(s) for your Champion
