From a $4 whiffle ball bat I cut open to play dizzy bat a year or so ago to GoPro pole. Added the float to the housing itself just as added security and so i can use it around the water without the pole. I'll be switching the electrical tape for duct tape but just wanted to make sure the handle bar/seat post mount would tighten town on the end of the bat.

I only got this thing from fedex an hour ago but ive already shot some test footage and pictures and WOW, this is going to be a fun summer.

I got the wifi bacpac and the dive housing.

I'm not too impressed with the fact that the bacpac was released months after the original set date and numerous push backs of said date and the fact that they are now selling it without the app for the phone control and live streaming capability. What if it ends up not even working? I do like the remote for it though, worked for me about 80' away through a house and the interior walls and doors.

I just got the dive housing so I haven't gotten to test it but it feels good and solid. Pics to come!

What does everyone think of the new GoPro3 Black Edition coming out (already out some places from what I hear) soon??

Looks like its been redesigned in a good way and now with ProTune software out, GoPro footage should integrate pretty well into other professional footage from higher end filming hardware.

I would be more pumped if I hadnt just dropped 3 hun on a GoPro2 like 6 months ago Evil or Very Mad

It will save me 100 bucks tho without having to get a wifi bacpac which I was going to get for my GoPro2.

Well....thoughts, opinions??

I have been thinking of getting a gopro 3 to put some of this tricks I've been learning online to share. I skateboard and wakeskate as often as I can. I have very little experience filming, so I figure this might be a cheap way into learning.
Are they (GOPRO HERO 3) worth the money? What else will I inevitably need to invest in? Perhaps that I should get right off the bat (extra batteries, memory cards, anti-fog pad things...)? I would really appreciate some honest opinions.
I work in the production arts, and I have fully loaded Power Macs at my disposal. I also have CS cloud, so there is video editing capabilities there. They seem like they might be too complicated for my purpose (just simple editing of time, fades, titles and credits and maybe some slow mo). Any suggestions on the software end? Thanks in advance,
Andy

wakeshredder, I love mine. Originally got it for the water but I'm finding myself using it all the time for other stuff. It's so small/tough that it's not a burden or worry to carry with you almost anywhere. Even if I'm not sure what I'm going to do, I'll usually keep my Hero 2 on me in the waterproof case just to shoot if something fun comes up. My new obsession with is is filming on theme park rides.

Anti-fog pads are a MUST in the water and if you plan on filming a ton or for more than a day without charging, then a second battery isn't a bad idea. Remember, you're probably only going to be filming clips and not constantly have it running most of the time so the battery lasts a full day or more if you're smart with it. I splurged a bit and got myself one 32GB memory card and I've never had to worry about space.

I just do quick edits on iMovie. It's nothing close to my old Adobe Premier rig I used to edit on but you're probably not gonna get too fancy anyway and I haven't really needed anything I couldn't get out of even basic software on the mac.
