Sucks to hear about your experience with Adam and Distortion. F that dude.

We winch a lot and so far ridiculous winches have proven to perform the best. Ben's winch drives like a cadillac. Tried a New winch one day and we got 1 pull, even after 2 trips to home depot to try to fix it. The wood frame was in bad shape, I just don't see those winches lasting in the long run.

Even though I don't winch as much as I used to, it's still nice to have a reliable machine being a filmer. Nobody likes wasting time at a spot with a busted winch.

I see the other winch companies as my brothers, they HAVE contacted me while in Phoenix and I offered and pulled some of them while they were here, I would expect the same if I were in their town, that being said I would never short change a client, it's no secret that sometimes during a build, s hit happens, but in this industry reputation is everything so if that were to happen I would communicate that with my client (for example the Ricky G winch was a pain in the ass and we were on the phone almost daily and paint got screwed up on another winch because Phoenix was unusually humid during that build), I want to see all of us succeed but I also want to see my name listed with the others Smile

I just wanted to add that I pulled the Grinch apart to do some maintenance (since you can't access the carb without pulling the entire engine out of the frame). It constantly fowls plugs, so I wanted to look at the jetting. It turns out that, not only is the engine not the 11hp Subaru I was promised in my $3k bill, it's a generic 6.5hp honda clone, they retail for about $99.00. Thanks again, Adam. You're a common criminal running a deadbeat business. Lying to your clients, even if it's only the ones you don't know personally, is bad business and could result in some bad things. I am probably going to appeal to a consumer advocacy group of some sort. I feel as though I should be entitled to a rebate or something. It's kind of like if you bought a Porsche, but it had a VW engine in it... Not cool.

Sad Some people are only in it to make a buck. Too bad it's at the expense of people who are into it for the love of it...

wakeshredder, sorry dude. wish you would have been into the electric winch. we would have blown your mind for 3 grand on service and quality.

it seems to me that 99% of the distortion buyers wouldn't know they bought a
sham of a winch too...

I would have returned it and gone with someone else....

phoenix is with the $
so is pulldozer (everyone ive seen is old and still running like a beast)

just bought a pulldozer recently. Thing is rediculous, most consistent pull, easy to use, portable, releasable spool is the best invention. No hassle at all pulling the rope out, which bummed me out about a lot of winches ive used. Seriously a work of art.
