I dont know how no one has brought this up. I picked up the mag yesterday and was blown away by the article. It is a nice long interview with great pictures, including a sequence of a wake to wake varial heelflip!! 
Pick up a copy and check this out. |

he's the coolest dude ive met by far...
met him a while back and he was a really sick dude, told me i was the only person at wakestock that asked for his autograph, shocked me.. but then again wakestock is full of meatheads and strappers so i guess it makes sense!
i gotta pick up this mag tomo! |

Although a fan of his riding, I am not a fan of personally. While I was at Surf Expo this year & after the Wake Awards, I was outside talking with my new Girlfriend someone apparently threw an empty beer can towards us and when I turned around to see who. Low & behold there was Danny Hampson with a bunch a friends laughing. he shrugged me an arrogant look like, "what are you gonna do about it"... I walked away from him and his friends.
I was pretty bummed that he was that kind of a guy....

sorry, for the joke, but i remember hearing on here that (i believe) chase gregory got a beer can thrown at him by one of the cassette team riders at a comp because of that.

We at Obscura are sorry you feel that way. Danny is a straight up, stand up guy, and I am confident that he neither threw the can at you, or had any ill intentions toward you. The fact that he was surrounded by a group of people says to me he was not the guilty party. One thing Dan is guilty of is hanging around a lot of people, good and not so good. I would almost bet on who it was acting a fool, but I won't throw anyone under the bus on here. In all likelihood, if Danny was to "shrug" at you it was probably because he felt bad his friends were being asses. Either way, I hope you don't walk away from one incident with a reflection of a person as a whole. Our apologies from Obscura.

i always enjoy reading danny's words....so soulful......the sequence shot says it all....... ridiculous.........probably the most dynamic charismatic person in wake right now ..........love ya dan...........keep it up.
