just a word of caution about the cutting disk spool idea, make sure you use some kind of wheel rim on the inside of the spool or the bolts will pull straight through the cutting disk (voice of experience, very frustrating)

Hi, thanks, for the advice, we've got wheels hubs on the spool so we're all good on that, will get some pics up.

I suppose this is our biggest issue at the moment:

The shaft will not allow us to get the TAV hub close enough to the engine to get the belt inline. We have two choices: float the TAV on spacers to get it inline OR make the keyway longer on the shaft with a dremel and this could take bloody ages! anyone have experience of this??

This makes me miss Dublin more now that I know there's some shredding going on! It's a great city you all have there. I hope I get to go back someday.

create a brake of sorts, something that would stop the spool from spinning. kinda of like a bicycle brake, rubber should do just fine.

EVERYBODY WITH a winch should have a blog and make edits of their adventures!
