i just started purchasing components to build a kicker that will blow your mind. visit rollingbarge.com for the general idea. i already have the 55 gallon drums that will float a trailer which will transform into a kicker or fun box or rail, and STILL transport my winch, generator, camping supplies on it, this will be an entire wakeskate winch camping experience in one DOT approved trailer. have no doubt, constuction begins this weekend

i picked up a 3500lb axle from craigslist but it's in rough shape, technically i could roll with it as is but i'd like to adjust the pitch of the idler hub arm so that the axle sits as high as possible, lots of steps and work to get it loose from its current position

supermanotorious, go to tractor supply or something similar. They have multiple sizes of axles to choose from. None of them have brakes but you shouldn't need brakes for something that small anyways

I've started to weld the frame for the barrels. I am going to hold off on making it a trailer for now. I'm building it to fit in my utility trailer so I can start hitting it asap, I will revisit the trailer later. I will post some pictures soon.

about 60% of the first barrel pod is done, I'm using old bed and futon frames I got for free! I do need to cruise my block and keep an eye on craig list for more materials though. My focus will be to build the pods then platform, from there the kicker or up to flat rail, then at some point add the axle. I'm super excited and glad I finally got around to fabricating.
(there's more done than pictured)

so the thought process just became clear, I will make the "barge" out of the drum pods and license it as a watercraft, then I will acquire a DOT ready trailer and register it as such, THEN I will combine them so they are what I promised and they fly below the "radar", I'm motivated and stoked!

so I drove around for 2 hours today and didnt find sh it Mad but I took the bunghole plugs into ACE and found out they are standard thread! So I will position the barrels in the frame so that the 3/4" bunghole is bottom dead center, I'll put a 3/4" pipe nipple in the bunghole then attach a 3/4" ball valve so that if we need to let some water into the barrel it is a smooth controlled process

not only did I come up on some more angle for free this past week, I decided to put the barrels to use on this massive dude.... 10'x7' barge, 16' kicker, dual grind rails on the edges, the barge holds 4-9 barrels for whatever load you want to throw at it, I'm hosting a winch party this Sunday and we'll put it to the test, once it passes its paint time baby
