I've been playing guitar for a long time now...and i love songs that give me a good challenge to learn. I know alot of classics from bands like led zeppelin, floyd, ac/dc, hendrix...and i have always had fun with that stuff. But if you want a real tough challenge as a musician...try some Chuck Berry on for size. Holy crap. When listen to the guitar, even when it sounds like he is just playin somethin simple, you realize that ther is alot more to it than that (like a subtle bend or a slide or throwing little power chords into the mix while playing an intensly fast solo). He had a completly unique style. And i think that is what is lacking so bad in modern rock music. Ive been learning Johnny B Goode...its taken me two days and i still can't quite play it at the actual speed. I urge you to learn some chuch berry...its fun as hell.
Anyone got any other tuff songs for guitar?
If i was a pro skater and made a video... Johnny B Goode would be the music in the background. |

Learn anything by stevie ray vaughn. It still has that classic rock sound of Chuck berry but it has a little more blus in it. SRV probably rivals hendrix. |

listen to dillinger escape plan...the most technical combination of guitar/drums/bass....i garuntee you it would take you ten times longer to learn one of their songs, with the right timing and everything. plus, in their new cd miss machine, theyve proven they can make any kind of music too, and make it sound good. i guess they are an acquired taste, but when youre in the mood, nothing beats them. cause nothing sounds like them _________________ i am fuhrer |

Try to learn Yngwie Malmsteen. Anything by him is near impossible but once u get all the scales down it gets easier. Arpeggios from hell is the best representation of guitar skill in the world. |

yeah tom morellos so creative, its not so much the difficulty of what he plays, but even more so the instruments he somehow manages to use and make work, making crazy sounds. his style is really cool, and its never really gotten old for me.. _________________ i am fuhrer |
