I would do anything to go back and ride on the old sweetwater pontoon with derek and daniel. I don't think ali would be invited though....

Having a whole arsenal of cassettes... thats all there was back then.

A page from cassette analog #1--the first wakeskate print mag. A couple of analog copies sold for like 45.00 on ebay...or there was one full analog and then pages from another. I'd have to look back!

not just a team manager...he's also a client! Jim leatherman with one of the meanest backside re-entry shuvs in the business.

This one's funny to me because for some reason some people on here didn't like that this trick was called a "varial flick." the days!

I guess this post is more like a history lesson and less like a walk down memory lane.

Oh, and it's awesome to see you on here jesse! I can't remember if I posted that or not, but I definitely wanted to!

Here are some more cassette ads. it's most of them. I know there's another LF ad I'm missing that has the 02 concaves...I only scanned half of it but it's pretty boring anyway.

im sure it's been said over and over again, but in a brief statement, why did cassette die? - im sorry if its off subject. - its just hard to see something so good that had to go away.

I would just say money. the 04 line never came out right so there was a very short run of boards from that year. ( i heard there were only like 100 reeds produced, but I'm not sure if that's accurate or not. I just know there are not many 04 cassettes out there, and even fewer that look good.) 05 needed to be a good year but a number of first batch bi-levels weren't pressed correctly or something, so they delamed. cassette tried to warranty them but eventually, when you don't have money you don't get your product to sell.

I think it sucks that cassette is gone but I'd rather have had it and lost it than not had it at all. I've been so insipred as a person by the people behind that brand that I probably couldn't even say thank you enough.

Was there ever a 4-trac with a wooden top produced or just a couple of protos? Like the one in the ad?

wakeskate77, just protos. But i don't know how many of those were made...I don't ever recall seeing any video footage or photos of that board so it might have even been a one off.

Slapdown, agreed!

David Legler, Nice! I especially like the pic of kov, and that wake to wake frontside shuv sequence was unmatched for a number of years. Who is in that second pic in your first post?
