Well, on the water it's fair game. I've ridden wearing retarded things like a hood and socks before.
But everybody and their mom wears trucker hats now (off the water of course) here in the northwest. I was at a snowboard movie premier last weekend and looked out across the theatre, and easily over half the doads were wearing truckers.
But to each their own, keep on truckin'!

i bounce before i ollie beause i learned how to wakeskate on my trampoline.. and to get the board to stick to your feet you bounce first. but i tried not bouncing and i dont think i ollie half as high. i can ollie really high on my wakeskate though with a bounce first. its kinda like.. here ill draw a pic

You all see it as bouncing cause that's what it looks like from the boat
When it 'looks' like I bounce my ollies, what I'm doing is just pushing down on both my feet before poping the ollie with the back foot.
It's simple physics... The harder you push on the water, the harder it will push back upwards... So pushing down with both feet before poping the ollie with the back one just helps getting more reaction from the water.
And there is the leverage too like Frye said, but it plays a lesser role than the water reaction imo...
