is it possible to get arrested for winching?..................there are so many ponds in subdivisions and neighborhoods around my hometown but almost every one of them says "No Swimming or Fishing"...............winching isn't considered Swimming is it?...........I just don't want to be chased off by our local police department because they have nothing better to do. _________________ Losers say that they'll try.............winners go home and F^&k the prom queen. |

kyle41, get a locking hitchpin in case they try to say that, also if you see the cops coming dont keep riding throw your gear in the truck that way they dont even see your skates laying around to try and take them, but yeah I have had cops threaten to take my stuff, and Ive said "on what grounds were willing to leave and those are our possesions and they arent illegal to posses?" and usually the cop has to think real hard about what that might mean legally. then you say "look were sorry well go" and then I get in the truck and leave so far no tickets ::knocks on wood:: _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

Thats how it is now. If people with winches are dicks to cops, eventually we will get treated like skateboarders are. It doesnt take much for them to make laws against it. If people complain enough they can make municipal codes rather quickly to ban winching. Dont disrespect the cops, and dont go back to the same spot over and over where you've been busted and winching will be semi-legal for a long time

I looked for it, but there is supposed to be a municipal code against winching in a town near me. there was no law to stop it so the cops couldnt do anything. The neighbors to the pond were pissed that the cops couldnt boot out the wakeboarders who kept going back 4 days in a row so they went to the mayor. the mayor made a municipal code against it soon after i hear. We were smart and didnt go back to the spot, but the wakeboarders went back and hit it all day for 4-5 days straight! that really pissed the neighbors off with the noise, and probably the cops too, they have better things to do. _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com |

yea one thing we always look for in winching is seclusion... sometimes when we find a sick spot that will easily get busted we cant help ourselves to hit it but we just and leave so we dont piss anyone off... seclusion is better for everyone cause you dont piss neighbors off, cops dont usually see you, and you can hit it longer... and since you can hit it longer you could end up making your own little rail park _________________ Nothin better than Wakeskating and Motocross!

We got busted for winching a lit up drop at night. The cops were very interested in how the winch worked and they soon forgot about what they were sent there to do!! They told us that if we were to give them an attitude then they would of handled the situation differently. Lesson of the day: Don't be a dick to cops and they wont be a dick to you. Well...most of the time at least haha |

So true, in my limited experience, 95% of the time cops are more interested in the winch than getting angry at us if we have a good attitude with them. The exception so far has been a woman cop, I guess she was trying to assert herself and play tough guy. |
