I just try to slow everything down a bit and think about how I throw a regular shuv. I too have a tendancy to either rush things or not put in the same ollie energy into a front shuv as I do a normal pop shuv. that's all I've got, hopefully others will have some good input for you.

when i was having the same problem i tried changing my stance a little bit and it worked. try hanging your back heel off an inch or two. also focus on scooping it up just like you would on a bs shuv with your toes, but do it with your heel. hope this helps.
