flying to DFW...bring wakeskate?

So I'll be in Dallas next week, flying in from CO bc my sister is having a baby. Anyways, I was wondering if I should bring the skate or not. I know Dallas is supposed to have some new cable parks, so I thought I might go ride a day or two.

Questions are: How to fly with a wakeskate? Will they let me carry it on or do I have to check it. Im flying Southwest...
and are there any wake parks near Dallas that are up in running and if so are they worth checking out?

Any input would be appreciated.

So it looks like Texas Mastercraft and Wake Sport Ranch are the only 2 operating. Has anyone checked either of these out?

gnargnar, wakesport ranch is pretty sick..tx mastercraft is basically a joke, the towers are too far apart so the line is super bouncy from what ive heard.

gnargnar, wakesport ranch is pretty tight. it is fvcking huge. i went there opening weekend, froze my nuts off, but it was badass.

Depending where you will be staying at in Dallas, WakeSport Ranch can be pretty far away. Also, you can rent a CWB Onset if you decide not to travel with your wakeskate.

Not sure if you've left yet or whatever but every time I travel I just bring my deck. They check it down below for free like where they put baby strollers/wheel chairs and what have ya.
